Bus Drivers Honored for Aiding Woman Who Fell

Three Port Authority employees were honored last week for saving the life of a woman who had fallen in the snow while trying to get to her mailbox.

The incident happened Jan. 29 while Raymond Brooks, of the North Side, an 18-year Port Authority employee, was training Walter White, of Spring Hill, and Allen Blosser, of Harmar, on the Mount Royal Flyer route.

Driving the bus along Sample Road in Hampton, Blosser was sitting up higher than drivers in other vehicles traveling the road. He said that's probably why he noticed a woman crouched in the snow in her front yard.

"She looked like she was in trouble," Blosser said. "She was on her knees and was trying to get up."

"I said 'Mr. Brooks. What is that?"

They stopped the bus. Blosser stayed inside while Brooks and White went over to investigate. …
