Kelly Reaches 1,000 for a Second Time

Mt. Lebanon High School graduate Ashlee Kelly, a 6-foot senior center on the Division I Quinnipiac University women's basketball team, reached another milestone recently when she surpassed 1,000 rebounds for her career during a 54-49 win over visiting Wagner College on Feb. 21.

She accomplished the feat with 1:15 to play, capping a 20-point, 17-rebound effort. The contest was her final regular-season home game.

Kelly is the eighth player in Northeast Conference women's basketball history to score 1,000 points and grab 1,000 rebounds in a career.

She is second in career scoring at Quinnipiac with 1,522 points.

This season, Kelly leads the Bobcats (17-10) in scoring (17.8 a game), rebounding (12.5 a game), blocked shots (23), field-goal shooting percentage (52 percent, 156 for 300) and free-throw percentage (169 for 215, 79 percent). …
