Northern Highlands, ranked the No. 1 girls soccer team in the country by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for the majority of the season, dropped Tuesday in the final poll to No. 21 following its 1-0 loss to Colts Neck in the Group 3 state final.

The Highlanders' loss in Saturday's season finale allowed Davis (Kaysville, Utah) to finish atop the rankings and claim this year's mythical national championship with a 20-0 record.

McDonogh of Owings Mills, Md. - a team that defeated Immaculate Heart this season - finished No. 2 in the country in the coaches' poll at 12-0.
