The Washburn men's basketball team will wrap up nonconference play against St. Mary at 3 p.m. on Saturday in Lee Arena before the Ichabods dive into MIAA play next week,

The Ichabods (3-1) are coming off an 85-78 win over Peru State while St. Mary, a member of the KCAC, enters 4-2 after an 86-61 loss to Southwestern on Tuesday.

Washburn's success early on has seemingly been contingent on establishing a presence inside, with the Ichabods scoring 44 points or more in the paint in each of their three wins.

"We're trying to get our legs in there in the post," WU coach Bob Chipman said. "We're trying to get it in to Brady (Skeens), Robert (Christopher), David (Salach) and Jeremy (Lickteig), who really dominated in there for a while. I think we did a better job of that (against Peru State)."

Three Ichabods are averaging in double figures, led by Cameron Wiggins' 11. …
