Running back Quinton Baker, considered one of the more exciting commitments in Marshall's 2016 recruiting class, has flipped his allegiance to division champion Western Kentucky. The Ashland, Kentucky, native announced his decision via Twitter on Monday night, three days after the Hilltoppers defeated the Thundering Herd 49-28 and won the East Division title in Conference USA. WKU takes on Southern Mississippi for the league title this Saturday.

Baker attended the game Friday. He was pictured wearing Marshall gear alongside high school teammate Drew O'Bryan, a linebacker who previously committed to WKU.

But now, they don't plan to go their separate ways, as Baker has changed his plans.

"Marshall, I really appreciate the opportunity! Baker said. "At this time I would love to commit and close my recruitment and attend Western Kentucky University and be a Hilltopper. …
