The Giants finished Sunday's 20-14 loss to the Redskins with just one of the five players they projected as their starting offensive lineman in May.

The latest casualty was guard Geoff Schwartz, who sustained a fracture of his lower leg in the first half against Washington and did not return. The Giants were also playing without left guard Justin Pugh (concussion) and center Weston Richburg (high ankle sprain) after losing left tackle Will Beatty for the season following pectoral and then shoulder injuries.

Rookie left tackle Ereck Flowers was the only one from the projected starting five to be in for the entire game.

"It's not good," coach Tom Coughlin said of Schwartz. "He has a fracture above the plate on his leg [that was inserted by surgical procedure when he was injured last season]. So I'm sure that he'll have to be put on IR. …
