We were pleased to see the editorial "Battle Lines: The Clean Power Plan Is Worth Fighting For" (Nov. 23). The plan allows states to set their own paths to meet emissions targets.

In contrast, Senate Bill 805, now in front of the Pennsylvania Senate, takes us in the wrong direction, exempting the largest electricity customers from Act 129, the state's effective energy efficiency act.

Climate change is a moral issue, impacting the poorest first, while the richest benefit the most from our fossil-fuel burning. The United States emits several times what most developed countries do - per capita. In Zimbabwe erratic rainfall, flash floods and long dry spells have created massive crop failure, and now children in classrooms are fainting of hunger. …
