DRIVER ESCAPES AFTER CONCRETE MIXER FLIPS ; Gardeners Rush to Aid of Stricken Driver after His Truck Overturns near a Busy Roundabout

ACONCRETE mixer truck driver was pulled from the cab of his vehicle after it overturned and spilt cement across a busy road.

The wagon overturned on Wednesday as it left a roundabout just off the M56 towards Wilmslow; a spot near to the new DHL service point that is adjacent to Manchester Airport.

Eyewitnesses described how landscape gardeners working near the scene raced to rescue the driver from the cab of the wagon after seeing it overturn at around 10.30am.

Emergency services were quick to arrive at the crash site, with the police later reporting that the driver had suffered a broken wrist but avoided any life-threatening injuries.

An eyewitness, who stopped to help, told how passers-by had initially rushed to the driver's aid.
