TOP THAT! UNIVERSITY LAYS ON PIZZA DEGREE ; Fast Food Chain Teams Up with MMU to Launch New Degree-Level Apprenticeship Scheme.

FANCY a degree in Pizza Hut? The popular restaurant chain is planning to create 1,500 apprenticeships in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University.

Candidates will be expected to train in a range of skills, from food production to financial analysis, during the degree-level programme.

Pizza Hut bosses claim this combination of academic and practical prowill grammes will reward students with "skills for life". The course will run for the next five years with the university taking in 1,500 apprentices overall.

A Pizza Hut spokesman said: "Offering the full range of apprenticeships from Level 1 to degree standard, the programme provide employees with a range of skills - from guest service and hospitality leadership through to more technical requirements focusing on food production and financial analysis. …
