TWO ARRESTED IN RAID ON CANNABIS FACTORY ; Men Aged 24 and 18 Held after More Than 40 Plants Worth Pounds 1,000 Are Seized by Police

TWO men have been arrested and cocaine and cannabis have been seized after police raided properties in north Manchester.

Officers found more than 40 cannabis plants with a street value of more than Pounds 1,000 after carrying out a drugs warrant on Beckett Street, Gorton, yesterday morning.

Evidence recovered at the scene by officers from the North Manchester East Integrated Neighbourhood Policing Team also suggested an electric meter had been bypassed at the property.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis and abstracting electricity and remains in police custody for questioning. A warrant was also executed at a house on Ridgway Street, Miles Platting, where a small amount of cocaine, digital scales and more than Pounds 2,000 in cash was seized.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug. …
