PELLE TO SKIP JANUARY SALES ; Blues Have Money to Buy Superstars, but Won't Be Adding to Squad

MANUEL Pellegrini believes City are in the frame to sign superstars like Lionel Messi - but the Chilean insists he won't add to his squad in January.

The Blues this week announced a Pounds 265m deal with Chinese consortium CMC. Pellegrini says that will boost the club in their pursuit of the world's best players.

He said: "If you want to be the most important people in football or one of the most important, you must be able to bring all the best players here.

"We are always trying to do it but it is not easy because there are a lot of clubs, five or six, that can do it also."

But Pellegrini has ruled out any additions in January, despite the Premier League leaders suffering 36 different injuries this season.

Sergio Aguero has been ruled out of today's clash with Stoke with a heel injury, while Wilfried Bony is also sidelined. …
