Police: Man Charged with Shooting Another Man in Wrist

Tuscaloosa police arrested a man who they say shot another man in the wrist Monday night.

Tyler Derobert Guyton, 20, was charged with second-degree assault Wednesday morning.

He is accused of shooting a victim, 25, who had confronted him about a burglary at his apartment last week.

The victim suspected Guyton of breaking into his apartment at Campus Way Apartments on Helen Keller Boulevard, according to police. He told police that Guyton spit on him when he confronted him in a common area of the complex, according to the police report.

According to the report, the victim tried to punch Guyton, who pulled a gun from his waist band and fired a shot that struck the victim's wrist.

Police responding to the fight call heard the shots and saw Guyton as they approached the back of the building, according to the report. …
