nun who helps to tackle problems in the community is going head- to-head in the ratings with ITV1 chat show host Jeremy Kyle this week.

Troubleshooting Sister Rita Lee runs a drop-in centre in Collyhurst which includes a food bank, welfare rights services and employment support.

A new BBC One Show Sister Rita to the Rescue will follow Rita and the team at the Lalley Centre as they battle to resolve problems suffered by the community and offer advice and support to those experiencing difficulties with debt or benefits, who don't have beds or furniture, or don't know where else to turn for help.

She said: "On Jeremy Kyle they air their issues but we don't put that on television.

"I don't think I'm a hero, I'm just doing a job.

"I hope that the programme raises awareness of what we do because the centre can't run on nothing. …
