NASHVILLE - The Mets, as expected, will likely not reunite with outfielder Yoenis Cespedes, according to Mets assistant general manager John Ricco. The team will meet with representatives for players they are interested in over the next few days during the Winter Meetings.

The Mets' main target is utility player Ben Zobrist.

"In talking with [Cespedes' representatives] and getting feedback from [GM] Sandy [Alderson], I would view it pretty unlikely we do anything with him," Ricco said Sunday night. "But you never know how the market is going to develop. I wouldn't rule it out completely."

Cespedes proved to be one of the best trade acquisitions of the year after joining the Mets on July 31, hitting .287 with 17 homers and a .604 slugging percentage. He transformed the lineup and helped the team to the World Series. …
