SIR Alex Ferguson has revealed he's spoken to Jose Mourinho as speculation mounts over the Chelsea manager's future at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are 14th in the table after newlypromoted Bournemouth inflicted their eighth league defeat of the season on Saturday.

It's led to talk Mourinho could be sacked by Roman Abramovich, although Ferguson insists the Chelsea owner would be 'foolish' to do so.

And the former United manager has revealed he's spoken to Mourinho - who was linked with a move to Old Trafford as Ferguson's replacement in 2013 - during Chelsea's slump.

Ferguson said: "I've been watching Jose and I've spoken to him a couple of times.

"It's the first time he's been confronted with non-success.

"If you look at his whole career it's been nothing but a rise all the time, so for the first time in his life he's had to deal with bad publicity, adversity, and that's a challenge. …
