Men Police Want to Quiz after City Centre Attack ; Police Release CCTV Pictures Following Early-Hours Assault Which Left 36-Year-Old Unconscious in Street

pOLICE have released images of two men they want to speak to after a man was punched in the back of the head and left unconscious.

The 36-year-old was hit following an argument with a group of people on Princess Street on Saturday, November 21, between 5.10am and 5.25am.

The man, who had been at a party with friends, initially walked away from the group before attempting to cross the road.

A member of the group then approached him from behind and punched him in the head, causing him to fall unconscious to the ground.

The man was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary for treatment to facial injuries.

Officers have now released CCTV images of two men they wish to speak to in connection with the assault.

Det Con Steve Lowton, of the GMP City Centre Neighbourhood Police Team, said: "We know there had been some sort of verbal altercation between the victim and his attacker before he was punched from behind. …
