Sharks Desperately Seek a Cure for Travel Sickness

SALE are desperate to scratch their 10 month long away-day itch, says hooker Neil Briggs.

Last Friday's agonising 23-19 loss at Gloucester meant the Sharks still haven't won on the road since last February's league win at London Welsh who have since been relegated.

In the wake of that Gloucester defeat, director of rugby Steve Diamond warned that Sale were in danger of becoming the Premiership's nearly men after several other narrow losses on the road.

And Briggs says he and his colleagues now have to dig deep and show their character to start turning those defeats into wins.

"People might say we are due an away win but it's not just going to come like that," said Briggs.

"We're close to it but that is the difference between the good teams and the mid-table sides.

"Maybe it's a mental thing but ultimately we need to finish these games if we want to be a top four team - they are the games that we need to close out. …
