SADDLE BROOK -- A local manufacturing company has donated $25,000 to a township grade school to boost its library offerings.

The donation from Arrow Fastener Co. is going toward leveled reading curriculum books for the Helen I. Smith Elementary School library.

It came about when parent Emily Sikomitellis reached out to the company during a library fundraising drive.

"It's a great feeling when a donor makes it possible to reach a goal," Sikomitellis said.

President Gary Duboff said he consulted with the business's parent company, Masco Corp., and Arrow's 330 employees.

"Our employees were overwhelmingly in favor of this initiative," Duboff told the school board Wednesday, when Arrow Fastener's donation was honored.

The company, at 271 Mayhill St., is a leading manufacturer of hand tools, including a heavy duty steel staple gun. …
