MANCHESTER Phoenix captain Luke Boothroyd insists the players remain upbeat despite the financial issues surrounding the club.

Phoenix have been forced to create a supporters' trust in order to raise funds that will help them see out the remainder of the season.

A number of donations have already been mad, and Boothroyd revealed his side haven't been distracted by problems off the ice.

"The guys always stay positive and there's been a great spirit in the dressing room all season," he said.

"Whatever is thrown at us as a club, we prepare the same way and we're focused on winning games.

"The fans have always been there for us and it's amazing to see their commitment to the club. It's hugely appreciated by the players and we all love being part of this club.

"As a group, we've been kept informed of the rink's progress and we're confident that once we get through this season, we can look forward to a bright future. …
