Seaman Official 'Impressed' by Superintendent Finalists

The biggest issue at Monday night's Seaman Unified School District 345 school board meeting went unanswered: Who will be the new superintendent?

After a 30-minute executive session to discuss the opening and the two finalists -- Steve Noble, Hillsboro USD 410 superintendent, and Tim Hallacy, Silver Lake USD 372 superintendent -- the board adjourned the meeting.

Board president James Adams said he was impressed with the finalists after a second round of interviews recently.

"Both interviews went very well. All the candidates, at all levels of this search, have been fantastic," he said. "This process has been challenging, rewarding, long and thorough."

Even though the hiring process is not quite at its end, Adams gave high praise to his fellow board members for the quality of the search, also saying they have become "more cohesive" as a group.

Whichever candidate is offered the job, Adams said their top priority should be implementing the board's recently passed 2020 Action Plan, outlining board goals in curriculum and instruction, in particular. …
