THE teenager they call the 'new Messi' lived up to his name to fire City into the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup.

Brahim Diaz produced a moment of magic in the 81st minute to secure a 2-1 win against Portsmouth.

And it was the type of individual brilliant that even Lionel Messi would have been proud of as the 16-year-old collected the ball 30 yards from goal, carrying it forward before finding the bottom corner with a clinical finish.

City had taken the lead after Lukas Nmecha (pictured) opened the scoring in the 12th minute.

The visitors had the best of the early stages and Nmecha's goal gave them something to show for it - the 17-year-old firing past Alex Bass after good work from Rodney Kongolo.

Diaz, Kongolo, Jacob Davenport and Nmecha all had chances as City looked to extend their lead. …
