Alty Taken to Replay after Trophy Stalemate ; Non-League Ben Collins

ALTRINCHAM were forced to settle for a replay in the FA Trophy after being held by Leamington last night.

The first-round tie was rearranged from Saturday after being rained off but the Robins will have to visit Leamington next Tuesday after a 1-1 draw at the J. Davidson Stadium.

Jack Edwards went close early on for the Brakes, who are two divisions below Alty, before Damian Reeves was denied by visiting keeper Tony Breeden.

Ryan Crowther then twice went close before Scott Leather's header was kept out by Breeden and Reeves hit the rebound over.

Breeden then breathed a sigh of relief after the break as he spilled a James Lawrie shot and it stuck in the wet turf before crossing the goal-line.

Leamington replied with Adam Griffin having to block a goalbound shot but Alty broke the deadlock on 70 minutes as Reeves poked in the rebound after Michael Rankine's shot was fumbled. …
