Barker Cuts Short a Loan Stay at Struggling Millers

BRANDON Barker has returned to City after his loan spell at Rotherham failed to work out.

The exciting 19-yearold winger had an explosive start to his time with the Millers, scoring the Championship goal of the week on his debut, in a 5-2 defeat by Ipswich.

But since then he has played just 19 minutes as a substitute as Rotherham have been in the midst of a relegation battle.

The termination of the loan agreement appears to have been by mutual consent, with City not content that the player was getting enough minutes, and Rotherham not finding a space for him in the team.

The good news for the elite development squad is that he will now be available for them.

Barker was a wanted man in the summer, when he toured Australia and Vietnam with the first-team squad - Leeds headed the chase for him. …
