ROCHELLE PARK - Authorities remained tight-lipped on Tuesday about a police-involved shooting early Monday outside a Bergen County Board of Social Services office.

Matthew S. Chaseman, 46, crashed in a driveway off Passaic Street, remained in his vehicle and had a pellet gun, the orange tip of which had been painted black, Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said Monday.

A list of more than a dozen questions sent to Molinelli were left unanswered as of Tuesday evening, including whether Chaseman pointed a BB gun at police, how many shots were fired and the status of the officers involved.

Rochelle Park Police Chief Robert Flannelly said any information about the incident would have to come from the prosecutor.

"I have all the confidence in the world that the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office will do a thorough investigation," the chief said. …
