ADRUNK mum who smashed into two cars while driving with her one- year-old child in the back seat said 'am I bothered?' when shocked neighbours threatened to call the police.

Michelle O'Brien, 34, was caught behind the wheel of a Ford Focus while almost twice the legal limit after a neighbour was woken in the early hours by a crunching sound outside. He left his house and saw O'Brien reversing into a parked car.

When he asked what she was doing, she replied 'nothing' and said 'am I bothered?' when he told her he was going to call the police.

The neighbour removed the keys from the ignition after noticing she appeared to have been drinking.

O'Brien then told the neighbour she needed to get her young baby from the back of the car.

Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court heard O'Brien caused some minor damage to the Ford Focus, as well as a Vauxhall vehicle and Kia Rio. Police were called and O'Brien was arrested at the scene.

A breathalyser test revealed there was 61 microgrammes of alcohol in her system - almost double the limit. …
