JOS WILL PASS TEST OF NERVE ; EXCLUSIVEAnderson Is Backing Butler to Win Back His England Test Place

JIMMY Anderson has backed Jos Buttler to win back his Test place. The Lancashire wicketkeeper was axed for the final match of the the series against Pakistan in the UAE after a poor run of form with the bat.

He was replaced behind the stumps by Yorkshire's Jonny Bairstow.

Even though Buttler showed a return to form with some stunning performances in the one-day series against Pakistan - including the fastest hundred scored by an England player which came off just 46 balls - Bairstow will start the first Test against South Africa in Durban on Boxing Day barring injury.

"Jonny is the incumbent wicketkeeper and hasn't done a lot wrong, so I would envisage he will be starting," said England coach Trevor Bayliss this week.

That is a blow to Buttler, who has travelled with the squad to South Africa.

And it is a decision which Kevin Pietersen believes plays straight into the hands of South Africa.
