Alabama Back to Work, Preparing for Michigan State

It's been a well-deserved respite for the University of Alabama football team after capping a SEC West title with a conference title to add to the trophy case.

But it's back to work for the No. 2 team in the College Football Playoff, as the Crimson Tide begin practice and preparations for No. 3 Michigan State today. The teams square off New Year's Eve night in Arlington, Texas at the Cotton Bowl. The winner will move on to face the winner of No. 1 Clemson and No. 4 Oklahoma.

It wasn't all down time as several players made trips to various college awards shows, including Derrick Henry who was award the Heisman Trophy, Walter Camp Player of the Year, Maxwell Award and the Doak Walker Award.

Center Ryan Kelly was the Rimington Award winner, given annually to the nation's best center. …
