The state Supreme Court ordered Wednesday that a three-judge panel convene to determine whether Marmet Mayor Bill Pauley should be removed from office. Raleigh Circuit Judge Robert Burnside Jr., Cabell Circuit Judge Christopher Chiles and Boone Circuit Judge William Thompson will hold the hearing at 10 a.m. on Feb. 18 and Feb. 19 at the Kanawha County Courthouse.

Pauley, 87, faces removal after 99 residents signed a petition saying they wanted to remove him from office.

The complaint said that Pauley "by his own admission, encouraged ineligible voters to cast votes during early voting despite the fact that they were not residents of the Town of Marmet, but were in fact residents of towns other than Marmet.
