NO. 3 ESU WOMEN LOSE TO MISSOURI SOUTHERN: The Emporia State women (8-2, 2-2 MIAA) lost to Missouri Southern 71-58 on Wednesday night in Joplin, Mo. The No. 3 Hornets had whittled their deficit from 16 points to four with 2:48 remaining, but Missouri Southern (9- 2, 3-2) pulled away by converting 7 of 8 free-throw attempts in the final 1:30.

ESU MEN FALL TO MISSOURI SOUTHERN: The Emporia State men lost 78- 73 to Missouri Southern (7-4, 4-1 MIAA) on Wednesday in Joplin.

The Hornets (4-5, 2-2) fell behind 43-28 in the first half. They outscored Missouri Southern 45-35 after the break, but it would prove to be too little too late.
