Robbers Hit Drugstore in Teaneck, Taking Pills

Two men, one of them armed with a handgun, held up a Teaneck pharmacy Sunday morning and escaped with a large quantity of prescription oxycodone pills, authorities said.

No cash was taken and no one was injured in the brazen daylight robbery, said Sgt. John Garland of the township police.

Three employees were on duty and one customer was in the store, Alvin's Pharmacy at 115 Cedar Lane, when the two men walked in at 10:40 a.m., Garland said.

The two men had bandanas over their faces, the sergeant said. "Basically, they just walked in, one showed a silver handgun and the other walked behind the counter and took the bottles from a shelf and they left," he said.

Garland said it was not known how the robbers made their getaway, whether on foot or in a waiting car. …
