Trinity Place Holdings Inc., the real estate investment company created from the remains of bankrupt retailer Syms, has been approved to begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange on Monday, the company said Friday.

Trinity Place's chief assets are the former Syms properties, including a building at 28-42 Trinity Place in lower Manhattan, and a 70,000-square-foot former Syms store in a prime location on Route 17 in Paramus.

The company, which will trade under the same ticker symbol it has been using in over-the-counter trading -- TPHS -- also owns a shopping center in West Palm Beach, Fla., and a retail property in Westbury, N.Y. It also owns the Filene's Basement name and trademark, which was previously owned by Syms. …
