BOGOTA -- More utility work is expected in the borough starting next month, this time underneath the train trestle over River Road near Elm Avenue.

The work, Mayor Christopher Kelemen said at last week's council meeting, will lead to road closures under the trestle and detours.

Before PSE&G begins that work, it aims to finish the ongoing utility work on River Road near West Fort Lee Road, Kelemen said.

The mayor said he and Borough Administrator Joseph Scarpa met with PSE&G last week.

That portion of the road should be resurfaced in the spring, though the resurfacing initially was promised in October and November, Kelemen said.

The mayor said the PSE&G construction near the train trestle is likely to lead to a detour for cross-borough traffic over the Main Street bridge.

"That doesn't sound good to me," Kelemen said at the meeting. …
