A trade that would send Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips to the Nationals appears to have hit a snag.

Multiple reports Thursday indicated the clubs had reached agreement on a trade, but The Washington Post reported that as of Friday night, the teams had made no progress because Phillips had not yet agreed to waive his no-trade clause.

Neither club has confirmed that a deal is in place.

Earlier in the week, the Reds sent Toms River native Todd Frazier to the White Sox in a three-team deal that brought prospects.

The Reds are in the midst of a full-scale overhaul.

Hard-throwing closer Aroldis Chapman will likely be gone in the off-season, too, and very shortly. It will be no surprise if any of the other remaining veterans gets shipped off as well.

Colon stays in Queens

The Mets announced Friday the signing of Bartolo Colon to a one- year deal. Colon will make $7.25 million, according to a source.

Colon will serve as the team's fifth starter until Zack Wheeler is ready to return, and can then serve as a swingman in the bullpen. …
