DAVID Flitcroft felt there was little between the two sides as Port Vale beat his Bury team 1-0 yesterday.

After suffering a 4-1 setback at Southend last time out, the Shakers were beaten by a solitary Sam Kelly strike midway through the second half at Vale Park.

That condemned Bury to their fourth defeat in five league games but Flitcroft isn't unduly concerned by their form.

"There was nothing in the game, but I'm really disappointed they won it with a goal like that," he said.

"I didn't see my players get those easy opportunities, being able to run and skip past three loose challenges. We looked quite threatening at set-pieces but still didn't create enough chances."

Bury had an early scare as Byron Moore hit a post in just the fourth minute for Vale. The hosts remained on top in the first half but the Shakers restricted them to few opportunities, one of which saw Ajay Leitch-Smith nearly turn in a Colin Daniel cross. …
