OLDHAM could be about to lose their captain Liam Kelly after Wigan Athletic made a move for the midfielder.

Kelly has impressed on a regular basis for Oldham since joining from Bristol City in the summer of 2014.

His performances led former Oldham boss Lee Johnson to try and sign him for Barnsley earlier this year, but the deal fell through after the clubs could not agree a fee.

It looks like he may finally depart SportsDirect.com Park though, with Wigan and Oldham believed to be in advanced negotiations for the 25-year-old.

While League One rivals Wigan may be in the driving seat, a number of other clubs are said to be interested in Kelly too.

Wigan sit fifth in League One, while Oldham have struggled during this campaign and find themselves in the relegation zone. …
