MACCLESFIELD and Sedgley Park will resume their National League Two promotion bids this weekend.

Macclesfield kick off 2016 away to Caldy and are looking to extend their 12-point lead at the top of the table.

Having won their first clash of the season with Caldy 34-27, Macclesfield can expect a strong test.

However, Caldy have not been in the best of form of late, only winning two of their last seven games.

But a victory over Chester before Christmas means they come into this game with winning momentum.

Second placed Sedgley Park are at home to South Leicester in a game they have to win if they are to keep up the pressure on their local rivals at the top of the table.

It is fair to say that Sedgley Park have been fairly inconsistent of late, losing four of the last nine, including an 18-15 loss last time out against Preston Grasshoppers. …
