Smalling Says Reds Can Still Win 'Crazy' League

CHRIS Smalling believes United can get their title challenge back on track - as long as they start the new year with a bang.

Louis van Gaal's team have gone eight games without a win in all competitions to slip from first to sixth in the Premier League table.

But despite losing three league games in a row in December, United are still only nine points behind leaders Arsenal at the halfway stage.

They face a busy January with games against Swansea, Newcastle, Liverpool and Southampton, as well as their FA Cup third round tie against Sheffield United.

And Smalling thinks a run of victories will catapult United back into the title race.

He said: "It is a crazy league this season and, when you slip up as a team, you look at the scores and see two or three other teams who you'd expect to win slipping up as well. …
