Frampton: MBE Will Inspire Me to Beat Quigg

BOXER Carl Frampton says he has been given an added incentive for his unification fight with Bury's Scott Quigg after the Irishman was given an MBE in the New Year's Honours.

The two men square off for the IBF and WBA super-bantamweight titles at the Manchester Arena on February 27.

Frampton has been rewarded for his services to boxing, and says the recognition will help him kick-on to the next level.

"This has given me an incentive to go on and achieve even more in my career in the future," he said. "It is a good time to get the award ahead of my unification fight against Scott Quigg next month as that bout is going to be huge. It's been talked about probably for around four years and I've been after it for four years."

Frampton was shocked when he found out he had been given an MBE, and revealed it was his promoter and mentor Barry McGuigan that informed him. …
