Russell Pays Tribute to Storm Faithful after Sell-Out

MANCHESTER Storm general manager Neil Russell says he couldn't be prouder of the lengths his side's fans go to in order to support the team.

Storm had their biggest attendance of the season so far against Sheffield Steelers on New Year's Day, with the rink packed with supporters. A sold-out crowd of 1,953 were unable to inspire Storm to victory, however, as Omar Pacha's side lost 5-4 in a thrilling game.

That was followed by more than 200 fans making the trip across the Pennines for the return match against Sheffield 24 hours later - another high-scoring defeat, this time 5-2 - but Russell has been stunned by their ongoing commitment.

"It's been great to see the Storm Shelter getting busier and busier week by week. This past weekend has filled me with so much pride," he said.

"We had a packed out barn on New Year's Day with an incredible atmosphere, and it was a great game too. …
