Wine Finds: Comparing California Sauvignon Blancs

Every December, Wine Spectator issues its list of the Top 100 wines that had been reviewed over the previous 12 months. The critics' selections are based on quality, value, availability and "excitement."

Although the average price for wines in the 2015 list was $47, there are a few high-scoring budget winners. One is the Pomelo 2014 Sauvignon Blanc from California, which earned 90 points and ranked 40th on the list. Although I couldn't find the 2014, I did spot the previous year's vintage at Schnucks and compared it to one of my favorite whites, the Honig Sauvignon Blanc from Napa.
