ANADARKO - Western Farmers Electric Cooperative said more than 200 transmission structures were downed across its service territory during the most recent storm.

As of Monday, only two substations remained without service, down from a total of around 57 sub and switch stations that were without service at the height of the storm that began Dec. 26. That number includes those that experienced extended outages of varying lengths.

Anadarko-based WFEC's service area extends from just below the Oklahoma border in Texas, continuing across the state and almost reaching the Kansas border.

WEFC said there were also some substations that experienced blinks but never lost power. Repair efforts for the Cimarron Electric Cooperative's Watonga Substation and Caddo Electric Cooperative's El Reno Substation are being hampered due to the loss of multiple transmission structures in each area, as well as muddy and treacherous road and field conditions. …
