Bury Snap Up City Youngster to Ease Keeper Crisis ; League One Ben Collins

BURY have eased their goalkeeper crisis by signing Irish youngster Ian Lawlor from City.

The 21-year-old has been on loan at Barnet but was recalled by the Blues so that he can join neighbours Bury on loan until the end of the season.

With first-choice keeper Rob Lainton and youth product Jack Ruddy out injured, Daniel Bachmann was the Shakers' only keeper and his loan spell from Stoke expired this week.

City signed Lawlor from Dublin club Home Farm in 2010 and he was a regular in the Blues' development squad last season.

He played five games after linking up with Barnet last month and has made four appearances for the Republic of Ireland's Under-21s.

Bury manager David Flitcroft said: "We have monitored Ian's progress since he signed for City and have been impressed in development games and on loan. …
