METHODISTS ORGANIZE

Missionary Jesse Walker organized six people as the first Methodist fellowship in the predominantly Catholic St. Louis. He first erected a small church on the corner of Fourth and Clark streets, after five years they built a large, brick church at Fourth and Washington.
