The Missouri State University Chorale, the flagship touring choir of the Springfield, Mo., college's music department, will sing at 7 p.m. Friday at Grace Cathedral, 701 S.W. 8th, at a Great Spaces Music & Arts Series concert. The select choir of about 48 voices performs under the direction of Cameron F. LaBarr, MSU's director of choral studies. The program also will feature the Lawrence Free State High School Chamber Choir, directed by Hilary Morton. A freewill offering will be collected.

Marilyn Monroe plays a minor but key role in the John Huston- directed 1950 film noir "The Asphalt Jungle," which gets a free screening at 2 p.m. Friday in Marvin Auditorium of the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, 1515 S.W. 10th, as this month's installment of its Classic Film Series. …
