Salford's Show of Respect for 'Footballing Side' Skelmersdale

ANTHONY Johnson has warned SALFORD CITY not to underestimate Skelmersdale United as they visit Moor Lane in the Evo-Stik Premier today.

Salford's 1-1 draw at Nantwich in midweek saw the two sides remain joint-second in the table while Skem are struggling at the other end.

Despite finishing in the top seven in the last two seasons, Skem are now two points above the drop zone, but Johnson knows they can cause Salford problems.

"How Skem are fifth-bottom I haven't got a clue," said the Ammies' joint-manager.

"I've watched them a couple of times and they're as good as I've seen, as a footballing side. I went on Boxing Day against Nantwich and there was no difference between the two sides.

"They're a very technical football side, they try to play, so we'll have our work cut out. But I can't wait, we seem to have turned the corner a little bit with the home form too. …
