UNFORTUNATELY, rain was the ultimate victor this weekend, forcing the postponement of several matches across the region.

Macclesfield, Stockport and Altrincham Kersal, were all left frustrated after their games were cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch.

That was not a problem for Sedgley Park Tigers though, as they travelled to Tynedale in search of regaining second place in the National League 2 North. Aviva Premiership side Newcastle Falcons gifted their ground to their neighbours after Tynedale's pitch was deemed unplayable.

In what was a tight affair the Tigers got back to winning ways, edging the game 15-13. Steve Collins was the match winner, kicking five out of seven penalties, but it was the solid defensive effort of the north Manchester side that proved enough to win the game.
