UNITED fans used to look forward to when Saturday comes but this season their entertainment is reserved for Monday nights.

Warren Joyce's Under-21s moved up to second in their own Premier League table with victory against Reading at Wycombe Wanderers' Adams Park and, again, did so by playing football taught by Matt Busby.

Some United fans have altered those lyrics to 'bored to death by LVG' and Van Gaal should perhaps draft Joyce into his coaching staff. United's youngsters have scored 15 goals in their last four games and first-team squad members have, unlike at senior level, appeared to enjoy their outings at Leigh Sports Village and beyond under Joyce.

A United striker has not scored twice in a first-team match since September but birthday boy Will Keane (below) was the latest reserve to prosper at Under-21 level, scoring the kind of scruffy hat-trick centre forwards cherish. …
