'Endangered Person' Alert Issued for Disabled Man

BRIDGETON * Police have issued an "endangered person" advisory for a homeless man who was released from DePaul Health Center just before midnight Saturday.

Police said Stanley Higgins Jr., 25, is homeless and has no means of transportation. He does not have medicine he needs.

He left the hospital on foot, into the coldest night of the winter thus far. Temperatures dropped to about 7 degrees by early Sunday.

Bridgeton police said Higgins had undergone brain surgery during a previous hospitalization and suffers from memory loss and seizures. They would not discuss the cause of his stay at DePaul because of health privacy laws.

Family members told the Post-Dispatch he had been severely brain damaged in a car crash two years ago. …
