Four cities to celebrate restaurant weeks

The next three weeks are a perfect time to be a foodie in West Virginia. Four cities - Fayetteville, Charleston, Lewisburg and Beckley - will host their own respective restaurant weeks with more than 35 locally owned establishments offering special meals at discounted prices. Fayetteville (along with eateries in nearby Oak Hill) is up first (January 18-23), followed by Charleston and Lewisburg (January 25-30) and Beckley (February 1-6). Fayetteville and Charleston have held restaurant weeks for the last two years, but this is a first for the others, which are part of a combined effort called Visit Southern West Virginia Restaurant Week. "We knew that Charleston had done a Restaurant Week, and it had been quite successful, and over the summer the state did one, too, said Kay Bess, marketing director for Visit Southern West Virginia. …
