Bistro Group Set Sights on Opening Site in Chorlton

THE team behind two of the north west's top-rated bistros are hatching plans to open a site in Chorlton.

Owners of Chester's acclaimed Sticky Walnut and sister restaurant Burnt Truffle in Heswall, on the Wirral, have the trendy south Manchester suburb in their sights for their next venture, HISPI Bistro.

A new Twitter account linked to the other restaurants' profiles says it will be 'another cosy neighbourhood bistro',' while a series of tweets gives diners a glimpse at the food they can look forward to.

It promises: "We will make bread. There will be some kind of sticky braised meat. We don't even open without cheesy truffle chips. Tarts will be like our religion. We will cook & cook & cook."

Chef-proprietor Gary Usher opened Sticky Walnut in 2011 and has since earned rave reviews as well as a string of awards including the AA's Restaurant of the Year in 2014. …
